Our Primary Montessori Program provides a continuation of the atmosphere, activities and expectations of our Toddler Program. As in the Toddler Program, children are free to choose activities from open shelves with self-correcting materials. The materials in the Primary Montessori classroom reflect the older child's developmental need for ever-advancing abstract challenges.

The Primary Montessori Curriculum is composed of the following areas: Practical Life activities, Sensorial Refinement, Language (verbal, letter recognition,weriting/reading), and Mathematics. Lessons in geography, music, art and life sciences are all inter-woven into the core curriculum.

Over a period of time, the children develop into a "cohesive community" working with high concentration and few interruptions. The classroom is created to model a microcosm of social life; each child is working independently to develop his or her own skills while also interacting, helping, modeling and learning from each other, always working towards greater independence of body and mind.

Our Primary Montessori Program offers an environment where your child is able to independently learn and develop the skills he or she will need in order to successfully participate in the greater world of elementary education.
